With a career shaped by participation in both group and solo exhibitions, including artistic collectives such as GIRARTE and events such as Art’in Lima, Quatro Olhares sobre a Romaria and Foz Arte, the artist has developed a distinctive visual language inspired by both Impressionist and Expressionist traditions.
In this exhibition at Flôr de Sal by The Editory, Gill captures the essence of June – a season of flowers, long days, sunshine and seaside living – through a diverse collection of works that bring together painting, collage and printmaking. Featuring watercolours, acrylics, monotypes and compositions created from recycled materials, each piece offers a spontaneous and experimental perspective on everyday life and the landscapes of the Minho region.
Her work is distinguished by its vibrant use of colour and a constant exploration of new techniques, resulting in images rich in movement, texture and emotion. Rather than simply depicting places or moments, Gill seeks to evoke sensations: the warmth of summer light, the vibrancy of traditional festivities and the energy of the people of Northern Portugal, creating an artistic celebration of the brightest season of the year.
