Beyond by The Editory

The Noble Hall of The Editory Riverside welcomed Vasco Ribeiro, university professor and author of the book The Model Host, on July 21, 2025, for a workshop dedicated to the art of hospitality.

Focusing on hospitality and etiquette, this session inspired participants to strengthen practices of excellence in service, applicable across various areas of the sector.

Part of the Beyond project, this training moment reflects our commitment to going further in the experience of both hosts and guests — with knowledge, purpose, and excellence.

The Editory Riverside hosted a Talk N360 & Beyond dedicated to the theme “Art on Stage: Hotels as Cultural Venues.”

In a conversation moderated by Marta Leite de Castro, Roberta Ristow and Isabel Tavares shared their perspectives on how hotels can be much more than places to stay, becoming true living stages for culture, creativity and new narratives.

It was a moment of reflection that highlighted the potential of hotel spaces as meeting points for art and contemporary culture.

The Editory Artist Baixa hosted the opening of the exhibition “Common Space”, a collaborative showcase that gives a voice to a new generation of fashion design talent.

The event brought together around 50 guests, including students, teachers, partners, and enthusiasts from the field, for an afternoon marked by creativity, sharing, and discovery.

On display until July 24, the exhibition features pieces developed by students from the Escola Artística e Profissional Árvore, the result of months of research, experimentation, and reflection on identity, fashion, and contemporary culture.

The Editory Garden Baixa Porto was the setting for yet another creative experience promoted by Beyond, this time dedicated to cyanotype - a handmade photographic printing technique marked by intense shades of blue.

Guided by Diana Fernandes, the workshop invited participants to explore this artistic process and create unique compositions. Each participant took not only the art they created, but also the memory of a special meeting dedicated to experimentation and discovery.

Yet another initiative that reinforces Beyond's mission: to transform our hotels into living spaces of expression and encounter.

The Sala Nobre at The Editory Riverside was the scene of yet another creative moment, with a tile painting workshop led by artist Eduardo Ricarte.

In a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere, participants were challenged to reinterpret one of Portugal's most iconic traditions - the tile - through a contemporary and creative approach. Each person was able to paint their own tile and take it away with them as a living memory of the experience.

This was yet another initiative that reflected the spirit of Beyond: transforming Editory hotels into living stages for artistic expression, meeting and sharing.

The Sala Nobre hosted another inspiring Beyond event: an author publishing session entitled Literary Dialogues.

Throughout the afternoon, several authors got together to share what drives them: their passion for writing. In an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, each participant had the opportunity to read excerpts from their works, talk about their literary journey and share experiences with the audience.

The diversity of voices and styles enriched the session, underlining the spirit of Beyond: creating bridges between art, community and hospitality.

The Editory Riverside, located in the emblematic Santa Apolónia station, was the scene of a guided tour led by Pedro Fernandes.

During the tour, participants were invited to discover the history and artistic heritage of the hotel, with an emphasis on the exhibition by photographer Jordi Llorella. His works revealed a sensitive perspective on Portugal's stations and the journeys of emigrants, through unique pieces such as cardboard suitcases transformed into cameras and passport-shaped departure photographs.

An immersive experience that celebrated the relationship between travel, identity and cultural memory.
