Celebrated on the night of 23rd to 24th June, São João do Porto is one of Portugal’s largest and most iconic traditional festivals. Between colourful plastic hammers, basil plants, grilled sardines and the fireworks display over the Douro River, this centuries-old tradition continues to bring thousands of people into the streets of Porto every year.
